City Services Directory

In an effort to provide up-to-date City contact information to City employees and the general public, Minneapolis has developed this City Services Directory.

Customers have the option to browse an A-Z listing of contacts and cross-references, or type keywords and phrases into a search engine.

What kind of information will I find in the directory?

The directory provides a comprehensive list of City departments and services as well as frequently requested contact information for our government partners. Not all contacts are the same; therefore, the amount of information about a listing will vary. The directory can be a source of the following information.

Browse and search tips


The entire directory is available for browsing in an A-Z index. The browsable list includes contact listings plus cross-references "aliases" or "other listed services" associated with a contact.
Click on "details" in the listing for more information about a contact or service.

If a "website" link is provided, click to go to a website or page with more information about the department or service referenced.


Use the Department & Services Directory to search by:

Your search will scan the Contact details text, all "aliases" associated with a contact as well as keyword terms that might be used as synonyms for a contact listing.

The results will be shown in the browsable list format. Click on "details" for more information about the department or service.

For best results:

Try the name of the department or service first. If you are looking for "Plumbing Inspections", type in "plumbing inspections" rather than just "inspections".

Use words that will most likely describe the department or service. For example, 'report a pothole' gets better results than 'hole in the road'.

The search is not case sensitive. All letters will be understood as lower case.

Search results will return listings that contain ANY or ALL the words entered in your query. The results are weighted and listings are displayed in the order of most to least relevant.

We're committed to maintaining accuracy of the directory information; however, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and website addresses are dynamic and change frequently. This is a challenge and an opportunity for you to be involved. If you find a problem, please let us know. Contact 311.

When forwarding the changes, please include contact information along with instructions on what should be changed.

We are committed to responding to change requests in a 24-hour time period, Monday-Friday. Note that requests received on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or a holiday will be processed on the next working day.
